How your information is used on this website and in WorthIT Fuel & EV Finder.

Who operates the site

WorthIT Solutions is operated by Worth-IT Solutions Limited, run by Mark Hollingworth. The company is responsible for the personal information it handles through this site. Contact hello@worthitsolutions.co.uk about privacy or your information.

Contact enquiries

The form asks for your name, email address and message. You can also provide a company name, topics, budget and timeframe. These details are sent to the WorthIT backend and saved in Microsoft Azure Table Storage, together with the time received and a possible-spam flag, so Mark can review and respond to your enquiry.

If push notifications are configured, your name, company, email, selected options and up to 400 characters of your message are also sent to the configured ntfy notification service for Mark. This may be ntfy.sh or a separately hosted ntfy server. The form does not send an email automatically; Mark can reply using his email app. If the form opens your email app as a fallback, its provider handles the email you choose to send.

You do not need to send an enquiry to use the public tools. Please avoid including passwords, secrets or sensitive personal information in your message.

WorthIT Assistant

This is an automated AI assistant, not Mark. When you send a message, the recent conversation goes to the WorthIT backend, which sends it with site information and instructions to OpenAI to generate a reply. Please do not include passwords, secrets, confidential material or sensitive personal information. Replies can be mistaken; the assistant does not make decisions about you or commit WorthIT to a project.

The conversation stays in the current page's memory and is cleared when you reload or start again. Closing the panel does not clear it. A summary is only saved as an enquiry if you choose to submit the contact form. If you copy a summary, it is placed on your clipboard.

The backend does not save a conversation database. Message text is excluded from application logs by default, although a debugging setting can enable logging of the latest user message. Operational logs include request identifiers, status, timing, model and token usage.

Requests ask the AI provider not to store completions, but this does not disable all provider retention, including abuse-monitoring logs. Retention depends on the provider and account settings. See OpenAI's API data controls for its policy; this site does not promise zero retention.

Fuel Finder, EV Charger Finder and maps

Searching by postcode sends that postcode to the WorthIT API, which uses Postcodes.io to look up its location. “Use my location” asks your browser or Android for permission only when you select it. Coordinates are rounded to three decimal places before being sent to the API for a search; EV charger detail requests can include that rounded search location too. Location is not collected in the background.

Search details remain in page memory while you use the tool. Application search handlers do not save a visitor location history or intentionally log your postcode or coordinates. However, search URLs contain them, and hosting request logs may record those URLs. Search responses can be cached by your browser briefly: up to two minutes for fuel and 30 seconds for EV results and details.

Maps load image tiles directly from OpenStreetMap after search results are displayed, including when the map is hidden behind the mobile Map tab. Tile requests reveal your IP address, browser information, the map area and potentially the referring site. They do not send the contact form or chat conversation. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.

Directions links open Google Maps on the website, or your chosen maps app on Android, passing the destination coordinates. That provider handles your use of its service. Fuel and charger data feeds are fetched by the backend, rather than sending your search location to fuel retailers or charge point operators.

Hosting and operational information

Microsoft Azure hosts the website and backend. Hosting and security services may process your IP address, browser information, request URLs, timestamps and error information to deliver and protect the service. The backend uses IP addresses in temporary rate-limit counters for contact and assistant requests. These are not advertising profiles.

AI, map and notification providers may process information outside the UK. Contact us for details about the provider arrangements and safeguards relevant to your information.

Cookies and browser storage

The site does not currently use advertising or behavioural tracking cookies, analytics scripts or persistent visitor identifiers. Application code does not set cookies or save your searches, enquiries or conversations in localStorage, sessionStorage or IndexedDB.

The website and installed web app use a service worker to cache site files, locally hosted fonts and images for offline use and updates. Your browser can also cache pages, map tiles and the short-lived search responses described above. These caches support the service; they are not used for analytics or advertising. No optional tracking settings or cookie consent banner are currently needed for these functions.

Cached site files remain until replaced, removed by the browser or cleared in your site settings. Browser and Android location permissions are managed in their respective settings. The Android app bundles its site files and does not register the website service worker. It uses the same search APIs and maps; the assistant is disabled there. This Privacy page remains available from the footer.

How long information is kept

The contact system currently has no automatic deletion period configured for stored enquiries. Hosting logs, assistant usage metadata and notification copies have separate retention settings that are not defined by the website code. Contact us for the retention details applicable to your enquiry or to request deletion. AI-provider retention is separate from the temporary conversation in your browser.

Your rights and contact

You can ask to access or correct your personal information, request deletion or restriction, or object to its use. Data portability may also apply. The rights available depend on the circumstances. Email hello@worthitsolutions.co.uk so Mark can help. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK data protection regulator.
